Review of the Papieri-Fäscht

The second Papieri Festival, which took place in September 2023, once again attracted numerous visitors and residents. It was the first true neighborhood festival.

People of all ages gathered on Papieri-Platz and in Maschinengasse. In addition to the «Open Studios» of the Papieri businesses, food stands and a catering areas invited people to linger. Live bands, DJs, and exciting talks hosted by Thomy Jeker entertained the crowd on stage.

There was also plenty for the little ones to discover: games and fun at the Paper Plane Playground, the giant slide, or bounce houses, as well as craft activities.

Culinary indulgence on Papieri Platz

With its mighty twin chimneys, the Kesselhaus (boiler house) is the most striking building within the former paper mill site. It will remain the prime place to meet in the new neighborhood, too.

Instead of steam, however, it will churn out delicious food. People can meet here for morning coffee, have lunch with their co-workers or get together with friends for drinks or dinner.

Beer garden

In summer, the Kesselhaus comes outside: you can soak up the sun, the fresh air and the view of Papieri Platz from the beer garden. It’s the perfect place to meet.
