An architectural masterpiece

This factory building dating from 1912 was built in the chateau style fashionable in that era and is the imposing southern face of the paper mill. It is a brick-and-mortar expression of the factory's importance at the time.

The original access to the Kalander hall was directly from Fabrikstrasse. (1912)
The paper hall was located directly above the calender machine. (1925)
The tall calender machine required the full ceiling height of the Kalander hall. (1934)
The distinctive little tower is due to the installation of the lift in 1924.
