Gastronomy and Interior Design at Papieri-Ring
Restaurant TReat. and Beyond Design
Long awaited, it’s finally open: the brand-new TReat restaurant in the Silo building at Papieri Ring 6 will be open to diners every lunchtime from April 24, 2025. Inspired by athletes, TReat offers fresh, healthy cuisine in the superb quality typical of OYM. The daily changing dishes meet the highest standards of nutrition and taste.
The restaurant boasts a stylish design concept and displays the signature look of Beyond Design. The interior design team led by Myriam von Rickenbach is also based in the Silo building and has ensured that the atmosphere in the restaurant is as inviting and inspiring as the food. The interior design on the OYM College campus was also overseen by Beyond Design from initial idea to actual implementation.
The restaurant TReat is a place of indulgence and an innovative gastronomic experience that combines science and culinary prowess. OYM Catering Manager Christoph Schär draws on many years of experience in the field of diet and health catering. Together with his team of nutritionists and dietitians, he has developed a unique concept at the OYM that focuses on healthy, performance-enhancing nutrition for athletes.
“Our eight-strong restaurant team forms the link between the two worlds, ensuring that our food is proven by science,” says the restaurateur with a smile. Everything on the plate is freshly prepared. “We don’t go in for convenience foods. As such, we use almost no ready-made products, and the majority of our ingredients are organic. The concept is alcohol-free, which further underlines our philosophy of health and vitality.”

“We work almost entirely without using processed products, and the majority of our ingredients are organic. Alcohol is off-limits – a statement that further emphasizes our philosophy of health and vitality.”
The TReat concept is closely aligned with scientific findings that are incorporated into every meal. Athletes appreciate the specially tailored menus, which provide them with exactly the energy and nutrients they need for peak performance. But lunchtime diners, from local professionals to families, will also enjoy fresh and tasty cuisine that strengthens the body and invigorates the mind.
TReat is open for lunch on weekdays from 11 am to 2 pm.
Head chef Jonas Schrag has been working in OYM catering for four years and has seen its development from various roles. TReat focuses on protein-rich, plant-based dishes and a variety of side dishes that guests can customize according to their preferences. Originally designed to cater to athletes, the restaurant concept has been expanded to make it accessible to the general public.
The modern restaurant can accommodate 40 diners indoors and will be supplemented by 80 outdoor seats once it is complete.
To ensure that the setting is a match for the culinary experience in TReat, Beyond Design has carefully crafted every detail of the restaurant’s interior design.
“The design of the space is more than just a beautiful setting – it’s an integral part of the overall experience.”
The harmonious color palette, natural materials, and open, inviting layout create an environment that gives guests a sense of ease and relaxation. With a passion for holistic solutions and a deep understanding of construction processes, Beyond Design creates spaces that are thoughtful, aesthetic, and functional.
The showroom of Beyond Design, located right next to the TReat restaurant, offers numerous examples of this approach.
The interior design team at Beyond Design supports its clients from the initial idea through to full implementation, working closely with all parties involved. “Emotions play a key role, because it’s only through genuine human connection and understanding that we can create spaces that truly inspire – whether it’s a luxurious penthouse apartment, a restaurant, or entire office suites,” says Myriam von Rickenbach.
“Emotions play a central role, because only through genuine human connection and understanding can spaces be created that truly inspire.”
Myriam von Rickenbach and her team at Beyond Design followed the same approach in designing TReat as they do in all their projects: focusing on people and their needs. The space is designed to be not only functional but also to engage diners emotionally – exactly what makes the atmosphere at TReat so special.
“The space is designed not only to be functional but also to resonate with guests on an emotional level.”
The large production kitchen next to the restaurant is at the heart of OYM’s catering operations. Food is made here for OYM, for athletes at the Bossard Arena, for various teams, for the shop and for TReat. Annually, it produces around 22,000 lunches, 40,000 bottles of OYM beverages, and over 2 metric tons of protein powder.

Many products are also available from the Nutrition webshop (www.oym-nutrition.ch).
The daily changing dishes can be enjoyed at TReat or taken out in carry-out food boxes. Diners can also choose from poke bowls and a self-service salad buffet with raw food and high-protein salads prepared fresh every day. OYM classics such as banana bread, cakes, and pastries round out the menu. The protein drinks and energy-rich snacks for between meals are particularly popular. Developed specially for athletes, they also boost vitality in everyday life.
TReat customers can look forward to an interplay of excellent cuisine and design: balanced, healthy, and tasty dishes in an environment that encourages relaxation and well-being. TReat and Beyond Design show that good food and good design go hand in hand.
Christoph Schär and Jonas Schrag are now looking forward to receiving feedback from future TReat customers. They believe that customers come here not only for the good food, but also because they feel invigorated by this diet.
The two are looking forward, along with Myriam von Rickenbach and Mirei Tanaka from Blossom House Coffee, to the expansion of collaboration between diverse cultures and sectors in the new Papieri district, as already practiced in the Silogebäude at Papieri-Ring 6.
“People come to TReat not only for the great food but also because our meals make them feel noticeably more vibrant.”
