After a long absence, a defining element of the Papieri skyline has returned: on February 19, 2026, the two distinctive chimneys were reinstalled on the boiler house.
The replicas of the historic chimneys, each around 20.5 meters tall, were manufactured in close coordination with heritage conservation authorities. Two cranes, with lifting heights of approximately 27 and 65 meters, hoisted the components—each weighing around six tons—from the Papieri Ring back to their original location.
For decades, the chimneys shaped Cham’s industrial appearance and served as a landmark. Today, they are not only an architectural symbol but also part of the boiler house’s modern ventilation system.
